Former blacksmith Alan Dawson has no architectural training but has invented a revolutionary way of building a house. Alan makes sections of the house in his workshop with wiring, lighting, plumbing and even carpets built in, then they are driven to site by lorry to be assembled like a giant Meccano set. The house should be up in seven days and his family are scheduled to move in a few weeks later. There is however one giant if. Every single item must be built with perfect precision if the house is to fit together – and Alan will only find out if his £300,000 idea works on site.
